Thursday, these beauties arrived on my doorstep and I am both ashamed and proud to announce that we have eaten the lot! Not going to lie to you, no regrets. Just need to up the lockdown exercise big style!
This stunning assortment was made by Cocorico, a Company that I had not heard of until very recently and I am now so so glad I have found them. Especially as they are hoping to open a Gluten Free Shop! My dreams have come true! Watching this space.
About Cocorico, Exeter
Cocorico’s aim is to make great tasting gluten free cakes that don’t cost the earth (like normal gluten free goods usually do) and I really think they have achieved this. My partner helped me eat this box of treats, he loved them and he doesn’t have an allergy like me! I always think that is a great sign! Enjoyed by all.
Why Gluten Free?
When I asked why they became gluten free after 2 years of business, I was surprised and happy to find out that they were finding people were ordering more GF cakes than those containing gluten. There are more of us out there! Woo! Ruth at Cocorico is also a Coeliac! At Exeter Food Festival, Cocorico became completely gluten free and they sold so many cakes, they had to go and bake each night!
Testing (aka the most important part!)

So, I have to start with my all time favourite flavour because I always start with the best. The fudgy white chocolate chunk was divine. Going to be ordering more of these!!! They were so tasty! The brownie is the perfect consistency, fudgy on the inside with a top layer of flaky chocolate. This to me, is the perfect brownie. The white chocolate chunks gave it a refreshing light taste in case you find pure chocolate too rich. YUM!

My second fave was the raspberry and almond frangipane slice. Stunning. So light and such interesting flavours. I really like this slice because it is not something you usually find in a range of gluten free cakes. This adds something different and it was so nice to enjoy this one mid morning with a cup of coffee. The raspberries and almonds really marry up in this slice. Such a great taste.

This one was Alex’s fave. He said: “A refreshing twist on flapjacks with huge chunks of mango – really delicious” They were really light and tasty!
Fantastic to see such a range of gluten free flavours!!
It is also great to see that Cocorico have some great vegan options too!

This one was great – again not usually a flavour you come across in a gluten free batch of goodies so great for a different flavour. Not to rich or strong in orange flavour either!
I really loved the way that each cake/brownie or slice came with an ingredient card which gives such assurance for those with allergies and intolerance that none of the pesky allergens are in there!
How can you order?
Message them! They do single flavours or mixed boxes like mine above! Just let them know how many you would like and how you would like them cut (note to self ask for finger portions next time so I don’t eat too many! Haha!) They deliver in and around Exeter for the price of the cake and no delivery charge! @cocorico_exeter.
Cocorico offer such great service and genuinely love what they do – I thoroughly recommend them to all #supportlocal.
