Why am I doing a sustainable eating month?

So I have decided to embark upon a gluten free sustainable eating month…and I believe that this is for very sensible reasons which you should all consider carefully. In the words of David Attenborough, the man himself: “Ever since we arrived on this planet as a species, we’ve cut them down, dug them up, burnt them and poisoned them. Today we’re doing so on a greater scale than ever.”

What am I doing?

All my blogs this month will be:

  1. Reviews on sustainable/organic and/or palm oil free products.

  2. Reviews on restaurants that help the cause, their opinions and their gluten free and vegan menus.

  3. Re-usable food containers, water bottles and other tips.

Why am I doing this?

As someone who would love a family, cares for humanity and loves nature, I wholeheartedly believe that even one person can make a difference. If we all took the time to think this way, we would all make a difference collectively. If my 1,300 followers see this article and make a change, and share it with their followers who all make a change – what a difference that would make! What an impact we could have on our only planet!

I understand that going vegan, zero waste and sustainable is a complete commitment but why not do what works for you. Change up what you can, even the smallest change could make a big difference. Love meat? Go meat free for 5 days of the week only. Like shopping somewhere specific? See if they offer a bring your own tuppawear service, or reduce the plastic you buy with the products, go for plastic free. Let’s not see it as a hassle, let’s see it as a new way of life.

In summary

Just think what one small change can do for future generations. As Greta so forcefully said “Our house is on fire.”

It’s true. So lets act. What can you do to help? Tune in.
