Waterfront, Exeter

This weekend I was invited to review On the Waterfront. 

On the Waterfront (if you haven’t already been) is on Exeter quay. It is one of my favourite spots in the summer as it is the perfect place to sit and watch the world (and the canoes) go by. However, with lockdown and all, this is obviously not possible soooooo I collected my takeaway from the front of the restaurant, cleansed my hands with sanitiser and brought it home to tuck into. It was a lovely sunny day so I could enjoy it in the garden (always trying to look on the bright side).

I ordered a GF chicken sensation, sweet potato fries and duck wings (from the tapas menu). Sadly, they were out of duck wings and so I am yet to try their tapas GF options! So disappointing as I was dreaming of duck wings all day. I did however proceed to tuck into my pizza and sweet potato fries, and finished the lot!

The GF pizza base is thin crunchy and very Italian style, just how I like it so that was an immediate thumbs up for me. I hate it when a pizza place can’t nail a GF base and it’s crumbly or tastes like thick stodgy bread. Defo not the case here! It was fantastic. The second thumbs up from me was the size. Sometimes, you order at a pizza place (naming no names but pizza express, cough cough) and you get a mini base. Just because I am gluten free doesn’t mean I am on a diet! On the Waterfront have got it just right, a perfect size.

The topping was fantastic. Pulled chicken, sweetcorn, button mushrooms and garlic aioli. Cooked to perfection. Pulled chicken on a pizza really does work.

I do love the random and exciting flavours that On the Waterfront  offer. Who else does a Crispy Duck pizza?! Just take a look at the gluten free options available here!!!

Along side the pizza, I also enjoyed sweet potato fries! These were so so tasty and will definitely be ordering again! I also need to try the loaded pulled chips, see above, how good do they look right?!

On the Waterfront have a wide variety of gluten free options and also remain one of the only places to have gluten free take away on the menu!! I will 100% be back.
