A month ago I was out on my daily walk taking in the scenery and I stumbled on this new cafe. It wasn’t open yet so I took a peak through the window and I was absolutely taken away with just how gorgeous it looks. The interior design in this place is superb. From the palm tree print on the back wall to the neon “Be Happy” light. This place creates such a positive vibe! Love it! Just what we all need right now!

I went along for a take away on the first week of their opening to try out the gluten free food (they opened on Thursday) and the interior was just as beautiful as it was through the window. At the moment, due to the current situation they are currently only taking take-out orders and will be sampling a few dishes from their menu each week! I can’t wait until it opens fully! I expect they will be very busy! This place is perfect for meetings with friends and family. I will be taking my sister here as soon as I can see her! She would love it! Very Instagrammable.

VegBox is right by Bar Venezia and Rockfish on the quay. Right next to this stunning view!

I tried out the Falafel Salad Buddha Bowl and made it GF (obvs). Everything in the bowl was absolutely delicious and I felt great after. It was so lovely, light and healthy and gave me such great boost for an afternoon of work (that I needed). The Falafel buddha bowl came with beetroot falafels, slaw, hummus, sweet potato chunks, salad with fantastic dressing and avocado. I love a bit of avocado and hummus. So tasty! The one thing that I would point out is that the GF option does not currently come with a pitta which would have been so nice with the hummus (perhaps a GF pitta could make its way to the menu sooon – that would just make it superb).

Here it is, scrumptious:

For pudding, yes I had pudding after lunch. I tucked into one of their GF brownies. I tried out the chocolate orange brownie! It was a decent size and had a slightly smoky flavouring to it. I appreciate that the brownie flavours are exciting (compared to the boring plain brownies you usually get in places).  I also liked how they separate the GF brownies from the “normal” ones. Lots of cafes don’t understand the importance of doing this! Next time I am going to try out the hazelnut one! Love a hazelnut in a brownie! These brownies are supplied by @wanttobakefree

I have also heard very good things about their coffee and will be making this a regular coffee location, especially on a pretty day when you can soak in the sights of the quay.

Give them a follow on Insta at @vegbox_cafe and pop to the quay and try them out!
