I absolutely love Carluccio’s Restaurant. Now I know what you are thinking…it’s because I’m Italian…well you aren’t wrong there but there are also many other delights to this Restaurant. Here are my top five!
Upon arrival I ask for gluten free options…and I am handed a whole menu!!! Don’t you just love it when that happens! A plethora of choices to fill your gluten free belly.
The pasta is amazing – cooked perfectly al dente. I chose carbonara and it was simply fantastic – such a beautiful taste to it. As you can see from the picture above, you get your monies worth too – I have not yet left a Carluccio’s feeling hungry. The pasta is amazing – personally I think its one of the best I have tasted. It is also on sale in the shop for £2.95 (spaghetti – https://www.carluccios.com/shop-online/italian-pasta/gluten-free-spaghetti).
The breakfast – this really is the best way to start your day! Eggs with grilled pancetta, sautéed mushrooms and tomato. This is served with coffee or tea, and a fresh juice – all for just under £10! The best thing is the gluten free breakfast comes with gluten free bread! I hate it when you go somewhere and they take away all the extras and you end up with three items at the same price as the full “normal” breakfast – how is that fair?
No extra price tag for being gluten free and the staff are always happy to accommodate you. Always nice not to be a problem!
The ambience. I love sitting in here relaxing with friends sipping on a coffee. They ask you exactly how you would like this roasted and if you like the coffee – you can buy it in the shop alongside classic stove-top espresso makers. The perfect place for an enjoyable espresso or even a cheeky espresso over ice cream (my personal summer favourite).
