Birthday Las Iguanas

It was my birthday last weekend and I decided I wanted to try Las Iguanas for the first time. I had subscribed to their emails a while ago and kept getting pictures of their delicious looking food. The week before my birthday I was sent an email with a special offer – birthday chica eats free!! Obviously I snapped this right up.

I was very pleased to see that when I arrived I was given a completely gluten free menu with lots of choice. I chose the seabass with rice, white wine sauce, crayfish, prawns and muscles. A seafood delight! It was lovely and surprisingly filling. The seabass was cooked to perfection and the white wine sauce just complimented the fish perfectly.

I selected this from the a la carte menu however they do have a cheaper lunch/early evening menu with some lighter bites and sandwich options. My boyfriend ordered from this one and loved his dish too – although I won’t go into details about this one as it wasn’t gluten free!

We also shared some nachos between us and I am not exaggerating when I say that these are the best nachos I have ever tasted. The cheese was layered throughout and there was just the right amount of guacamole, sour cream and salsa to cover every nacho if needed. There is nothing worse than just being left with the dry chips at the bottom of the bowl…but this was certainly not the case. These got 10/10 from both of us. Just make sure you tell them you are ordering the ones off the GF menu!

Drinks wise we obviously took advantage of the 2 for 1 drinks that they do all day every day! Who needs a happy hour?! We had strawberry daiquiris and they were delicious! I was also served a complimentary mohito with a little candle in it! How sweet of them!!

I will most definitely be coming back again! What a birthday treat!
