So has anyone seen “Before the Flood” with our main man Leonard Di Caprio? Well it really made me think twice about what we are doing to this planet. I’ve been really trying to be eco friendly – re-usable shopping bag CHECK, as little plastic as possible CHECK palm oil free? LETS DO IT.
Haven’t got enough time to watch a whole documentary? – have a watch of this vid:
Palm oil: what you need to know https://www.greenpeace.org.uk/faqs-palm-oil-answered/
The harvesting of palm oil is one of the biggest killers of the rain-forest and….the habitat of the orangutans!!! So…how can we stop it? We can make wise and careful choices about where we shop, what we eat and what we products we use? I’ve completed a week, palm oil free (food only this time), to show you that it can be done. I challenge you all to do the same! Let me know how you get on!!!!
This is what I ate for a week to avoid palm oil, it can provide a bit of inspiration for you!
Watch out because sometimes its under a different name – I’ve tried wherever possible to follow this list but they don’t half make it tricky (so many words for palm oil!!!!) : https://www.ran.org/the-understory/palm_oil_s_dirty_secret_the_many_ingredient_names_for_palm_oil/

Breakfast: Onken yoghurt and flaxseeds with raspberries.
Lunch: Parma ham and buffalo mozzarella sandwich
