We thought it’s Thursday, its nearly the end of the week, we deserve a treat…so we went to Oddfellows for lunch and it was just the ticket!

For those who haven’t been to Oddfellows before, I highly recommend both the gastro pub and the speakeasy cocktail bar above. There is a great quiz on Tuesday (our team once came 2nd place, sadly not a winner YET), a great assortment of food nights (Sunday roasts being my fave so far although steak and wine night…close second) and fantastic open mic nights (although the music in Oddfellows always seems to be tune after tune).

What I hadn’t tried yet was the lunch menu…and I was not disappointed.  This menu is available Monday to Saturday 12-3pm. For just £10, you are greeted with fantastic staff, great atmosphere and a freshly cooked 2 course meal!

We chose spiced whitebait for starters with the MOST AMAZING mayonnaise I have ever tasted (lemon and black pepper). OMG in love. We kept it for our chips (second course) too!

Second up we had fish, which was perfectly cooked and flaky, falling right off the bone, with dressed leaves and fries. I love the fries at Oddfellows which are gluten free too and amazing with moules (yes I have sampled quite a few things from their menu). The menu stated gougons however the chef was happy to cater for my allergy and oven roast the fish instead.

This was obviously…washed down with some sparkly prosecco. Of course, I know it’s lunch but one won’t hurt…

Oddfellows have always been more than happy to cater for my allergy – swapping anything on the menu to make it suitable! Everything is freshly prepared so this is very easily done! Vegan, dairy free, vegetarian, gluten free…you name it, they appear to be able to cater for it all!
